Itzel Reyna is a tenor saxophone player from Mexico City based on Boston MA. She started her musical studies at the age of 16, influenced by the sound of John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, among others. Her music is highly influenced by jazz, free improvised music, minimalism, among other genres. Itzel Reyna thinks that music can serve as a practical device for unraveling our world. For her, one of the purposes of music is giving the listener an open door to explore themselves and their surroundings through the art of sound.
